the elderly and their families through education, advocacy, resources and support.

Elderhaven Adult Day Centers provide comprehensive, therapeutic, and licensed adult day care that allows seniors and adults with disabilities to remain living independently as an alternative to early nursing home placement.
 
In 2008, Elderhaven Centers:
- Provided 250 days of safe, professional care and stimulating activities for 166 unduplicated clients
- Served more than 24,145 nutritious snacks and meals
- Made 8,224 one-way trips transporting clients
- Performed 850 health screening assessments

The Caregiver Resource Center serves the elderly, adults with disabilities, their caregivers, families and health care providers with information, consultation, guidance and support.


In 2008, the CRC:
- Provided resources for 1,284 walk-in clients and 2,818 call-in clients
- Loaned 765 pieces of medical equipment to seniors across Central Texas
- Hired a System Navigator to assist caregivers at AGE and over 450 seniors at two area senior centers


SeniorNet Computer Learning Institute offers basic to advanced hands-on educational computer classes for older adults taught by volunteers in a peer to peer setting.

 

In 2008, SeniorNet:
- Taught 468 students through 27 classes and 39 seminars
- Provided 2,312 volunteer hours of coaching and instruction for Austin seniors at a value of $46,828
- Received new physical support with a major Pier and Beam reconstruction, rework of the storage area and a new AC/Heating system

The Historic AGE Building provides centrally located, below-market-priced office space and shared resources for small and emerging non-profit organizations.

 
In 2008, the AGE Building:
- Provided low cost rent and shared services for over 20 non-for-profit organizations
- The Historic AGE Building Celebrated 100 years. Happy Birthday!
- Dell Volunteers continued to enhance our building with landscaping and cleaning projects.
