Help us honor and celebrate the following five individuals for their work

in the Central Texas senior community!

Bert Kruger Smith Vision Award:
Debbie Wilder, Greater Austin Cares

Debbie Wilder has been a leading force in bringing social-model respite care for people with dementia to the Central Texas region. Dedicating hundreds of hours each year as a volunteer, she continues to innovate services for seniors by creating a new program for people with the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, providing programming that enhances the quality of life for participants and allowing for a much needed break for caregivers.

The AGE Philanthropy Award
Patti Clark, The Friends Foundation

Patti Clark has been a champion for services for seniors in the Dripping Springs area for many years. As one of the founders and current President of the Friends Foundation, she has led the organization to raise money to provide critical services for low-income seniors. Her leadership in fundraising has allowed seniors in the community to continue to receive the services they need.

The Willie Kocurek Vital Aging Award
Louise Froelich, Volunteer with The Capital Area Food Bank

At age 93, Louise exemplifies vital aging, serving as a Volunteer Leader at the Capital Area Food Bank and tutoring at a local elementary school, and it doesn't look like she will slow down anytime soon.

The AGE Community Service Award
Dr. Peggy Russell

As a geriatric physician, Dr. Russell is a passionate advocate for seniors and is widely respected by peers and clients in the field for dedicating herself to senior causes in the Central Texas community.

The Professional Spirit Award is being renamed the "Rose" Professional Spirit Award in memory of Marty Rose.  As ProgramDirector of the Adult Day Health Center in Round Rock for 18 years, Marty spent a lifetime caring for those who could not care for themselves. A well-known champion for senior and disability services in Williamson County, she passed away in August of 2009.
